The International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) and the European Aerospace Quality Group (EAQG) serve as authorities in establishing quality standards in the global aviation sector. Under this group, Regional Management Structures (RMS) and Certification Groups (CG) form local entities in respective countries.
For Turkey to be a part of the global aviation quality processes, the MIHENK Committee has been established by SAHA Istanbul in coordination with EAQG, with the participation and support of representatives from major companies in the country’s aviation industry.
The activities of the MIHENK Committee are represented by the Ministry of National Defense, the Presidency of Defense Industries, SAHA Istanbul Defense and Aerospace Cluster, Turkish Accreditation Agency, General Directorate of Civil Aviation, Turkish Standards Institution, and member companies including ASELSAN, Roketsan, TUSAŞ, Havelsan, Baykar, Altınay, TEI, MKE, Kale Aero, and Turkish Technic.”
MISSION
- To represent the Turkey Industry Controlled Other Party (ICOP) Program at the European Aerospace Quality Group (EAQG) Certification Oversight Team (COT) level
- To conduct oversight evaluations of the National Accreditation Bodies (NAB) and Certification Bodies (CB)
- To report on the status and activities of the Turkey Industry Controlled Other Party (ICOP) structure to the European Aerospace Quality Group (EAQG) Certification Oversight Team (COT)
- To participate in the periodic evaluations of other National Structures in the European sector
VISION
To establish the Industry Controlled Other Party (ICOP) structure in Turkey and ensure compliance of National Accreditation Bodies (NAB) and Accredited Certification Bodies (CB) with the 9104 series standards.
