SAHA MİHENK

NATIONAL AVIATION INDUSTRY COMMITTEE

ROKETSAN was the first Turkish company to receive the domestic AS9100 certificate

In 2017, as a result of the works initiated by SAHA Istanbul by establishing the National Aviation Industry Committee (SAHA MİHENK) and bringing together the relevant public institutions and platform manufacturer companies, SAHA – MİHENK (National Aviation Industry Committee) was approved as Turkish Regional Management Structure (TR RMS) by the European Aerospace Quality Group EAQG OPMT in 2021 and Turkey took its place in EAQG as the 13th country through SAHA MİHENK.

With the work that gained momentum in this way, the ability of TÜRKAK (Turkish Accreditation Agency) to accredit the certification authorities of our domestic companies that can establish AS9100 aviation qualification system (Accreditation Body), which has been working for about one and a half years as a second stage gain, was approved by the European Aerospace Quality Group (EAQG).

Türk Loydu, which audited Roketsan’s AS9100 installation under the supervision of EAQG through SAHA MİHENK, has been accredited by TÜRKAK as a Certification Body. Thus, TÜRK LOYDU, accredited by TÜRKAK, became the first Turkish company authorised to issue AS9100 certification.

In this context, ROKETSAN, as the first Turkish company to receive AS9100 certification by an accredited Turkish company, became the first fruit of the Turkish Aerospace Industry quality systems initiated by SAHA MİHENK four years ago, and took its place in the OASIS (Online Aerospace Supplier Information System) database of IAQG (International Aerospace Quality Group) as TÜRKAK (Accreditation Body), Türk Loydu (Certrification Body) and ROKETSAN (Certified Suppliers Directory).

With the synergy created within SAHA MİHENK, the National Aviation Industry Committee of SAHA Istanbul, the joint efforts of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, the Ministry of National Defence, the Presidency of Defence Industries, the Turkish Accreditation Agency, the General Directorate of Civil Aviation, the Turkish Standards Institute, and the companies TAI, Aselsan, Baykar, Roketsan, MKE, TEI, Havelsan, Turkish Technic, Kale Aero and Altınay, which came together for a common purpose, have led to success.
